An NRA Certified Range Safety Officer is able to inspect and prepare a shooting range for matches or other shooting activities, and to take charge of practice sessions or matches and be responsible for seeing that they are conducted safely. Note that an RSO is not an instructor, and may not teach or instruct in any shooting discipline under NRA rules.
Students should bring eye and ear protection, plus a notebook and pen. Students will not need to bring a firearm or ammunition.
The fee for this course will be determined prior to the course date. This fee will not include the NRA fees.
To apply for an RSO Class, fill out the “RSO Event Form & Release“, send the signed forms, together with a check for the tuition/books in the amount specified in the e-mail you received, if a current member of the CRCJD, or the on-line notice on the NRA Instructors website, to the following:
